Wesley Parrish

Kahoka

Wesley Eugene Parrish, 83, of Kahoka, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Scotland County Hospital, Memphis, Missouri with his family by his side.

Wesley was born on March 2, 1943, in Luray, Missouri to Carson and Cordonna Marie (McCarty) Parrish. Wes graduated from Kahoka High School in 1961. Wesley was united in marriage to Barbara (Barry) Soper on January 16, 1976, at the Kahoka Christian Church and she survives.

Wes devoted his life to farming. From the first light of dawn to the quiet evenings, he tended his hayfields, cared for his livestock, and nurtured the soil that sustained generations. Wes believed in hard work, honest words, and lending a hand to neighbors in need. He found joy in the changing of the seasons, the smell of fresh-cut hay, and the sight of calves in the spring. Above all, he cherished his wife who was at his side through all aspects of their marriage, his children and grandchildren who will carry forward his values and his legacy.

Wesley enjoyed attending his girls’ basketball games, a good farm auction, the Clark County Fair, and visiting with the guys at breakfast. Wes was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Clark County Cattleman Association, and a Farm Bureau Member. He served several years on the University of Missouri Extension Council and the Clark County Soil & Water Board.

Wesley is survived by his wife Barb of 50 years, his daughters Pam (Steve) Oilar of Revere, MO, Rhonda (Don) Herr of Sigourney, IA, Anita (Lance) Arnold of Kahoka, MO, Amy (Scott) Fogarty of Donnellson, IA, Eleven grandchildren: Justin (Caitlin) Oilar, Megan (Tyler) Buford, Morgan (Casey) Hinnah, Halee (Chase) Ingebritson, Hannah (Braxton) Withers, Donald Herr III, Logan (Brooklyn) Arnold, Luke (Valerie) Arnold, Landon (Natalie Bowen) Arnold, Evan Fogarty, Austin Fogarty, Thirteen great grandchildren: Weston, Kinsley, Reed, Blaine, Harpyr, Maddyn, Gunnyr, Kannyn, Kai, Ryker, Wyatt, Cassius, Audrina and 2 more on the way, his sister Wanda Parrish of Memphis, MO, brothers-and sisters-in-law: Dean (Jan) Barry of Columbia, MO, Art (Marilyn) Barry of Alexandria, MO, Vernon Barry of Davenport, IA, Dorothea (Dean) Hunziker of Kahoka, MO, Connie (Gary) Watson of Fulton, MO, Patricia (Bob) Higgins of Broken Arrow, OK, Nancy Barry of Canton, MO, April Barry of Florida and other relatives and friends.
