Tony William Toops

Tony William Toops, 59, of Keokuk, Iowa formally of Wayland, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

He was born February 6, 1967, in Ft. Eustice; Virginia to CSM Howard Parsons Toops and Emma Portner Toops. He graduated from Clark County High in 1986 and Southeast Community College with a certificate in industrial engineering. He worked at Walmart Warehouse in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for several years, ADM, Silgan Containers, Ludwig Storage Facility.

Tony loved classic cars, especially Nova’s, going fishing, and a round of golf. He looked forward to watching his favorite TV shows Seinfeld, and Saturday Night Live. In the morning he liked fresh brewed coffee not from a Keurig machine, and in the evening a soda until they added the corn syrup to it. He enjoyed visiting with his friends with a cold beverage in hand telling the same stories over and over. Tony worked hard and kept busy until health reasons slowed him down. He appreciated the friendships he made over the years and his family.

He is survived by two sons Seth Allen (Laura) Elder of Kansas City, Missouri and Trenton Chandler Toops of Keokuk, Iowa, one sister Daniella Toops Jones of Hamilton, Illinois, one brother Ronald Warren Toops of Newport News, VA. A niece Amber (Tyler) Kratzer of Keokuk, IA, a nephew Brent Tripp of Warsaw, IL, several cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents William Silas and Hattie Parsons Toops and Theresia Portner. One bother Gary Howard Toops and one sister Connie Lauren Toops.

According to Tony’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside services at Sand Cemetery at a later date.
