Rex D. Barry, of Canton, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the age of 64.
Rex was born on December 2, 1961, to Donald and Janice (Presser) Barry.
Rex grew up an “Army Brat” and was the youngest of 3 children. Moving around a lot as a child is a constant he maintained in adulthood. Family vacations were frequent and mandatory. He was able to combine his love for travelling with his excellent carpentry renovation jobs in beautiful places all over the country as well as the Caymen Islands around the ocean he admired.
He had the best and coolest stories filled with the adventures of friends that became like family and the struggles of being an uncle to such a rowdy group of nieces, nephews as well as their friends! He was incredibly proud of his kids and grandkids and loved to share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Rex loved his dogs Bear, Roxy, Harley, and Gypsy and enjoyed good classic rock and country music, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. He also loved his Harley he loved to go fast…a lot.
Rex always said that if he had known he was going to live this long he would have taken better care of himself. He wasn’t here for a long time, but he made sure it was a good time. Thank you, Rex, for every moment and beautiful memory you shared!
Rex is survived by Paula Barry, his daughter Rebecca (Brian) Welker, of Revere, MO, and his son, James Carson (Riley Mae) Barry, of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren Christian (Jillian) Gillham, Aaron Barry and Michael Corsentino; great-grandchildren Eden and Vivian Gillham; and brother Vaughn Barry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Teresa Logsdon, nephew Nate Logsdon, niece Brigetta Logsdon, brother-in-law Stan Logsdon, and sister-in-law Rita Barry.
There will be a visitation with the family on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00pm at CrossPoint Church of Kahoka with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm. Pastor Eric Krueger will officiate.
There will be a reception at the CARE Building immediately following the service to share memories and stories. Memorial donations in Rex's Memory may be directed to Wilson & McKinnon Funeral Home to assist the family.
