Gilford Neil Evans

Gilford "Neil" Evans, 89, of Wyaconda, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Clark County Nursing Home, in Kahoka, Missouri.

Gilford was born on January 15, 1937, in Hannibal, Missouri to Gilford and Meda (Jones) Evans. In 1955 he was a proud graduate of Delavan High School in Delavan, Illinois. He served in the Illinois Army National Guard.

He was united in marriage to Charlotte (Goeken) Evans on November 28, 1958 in Delavan, Illinois and she survives. Neil worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria, Illinois from 1955 to 1986. After retiring they moved to rural Wyaconda, Missouri to their family farm.

Neil and Charlotte wintered in Frostproof, Florida for five years. In addition to farming, Neil enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends.

Neil is survived by his wife Charlotte of 67 years, his sons Justin Evans of Wyaconda, Missouri, Lindahl and his wife Sherry Evans of Kahoka, Missouri, his grandchildren Shawn (Michele) Duer of Kahoka, Missouri, Shelby (Brock) Buschling of Wayland, Missouri, great grandchildren Kennedy Johnson, Madelyn Johnson, Payson Duer and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Gilford “Neil” Evans will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Wilson & McKinnon Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO. Pastor James Leezer will officiate. Burial will be held at 3:00 pm at the Center Cemetery Center, MO. Visitation with family present will be held at the Wilson & McKinnon Funeral Home Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm. Memorials in memory of Gilford Neil Evans are suggested to the Clark County Nursing Home.
